Intensive Therapeutics is run and managed by occupational and physical therapists. Both are bound by a code of ethics, guided by standards of practice and are licensed by the state in which they practice.
Scott Matthews
Scott is the founder and executive director of Intensive Therapeutics.
Prior to becoming an occupational therapist, Scott was a social worker for 7 years. In 1997, Scott graduated from Kean University with a post-baccalaureate major in occupational therapy. He earned a post-professional master of science degree in health science, with a specialization in movement science, from Seton Hall University in 2005. His research involved looking at the effects of augmented visual feedback during a functional manual aiming task in child with ataxia. As an occupational therapist, Scott has worked in various settings with adults and children. Scott has been an adjunct professor at Kean University for the Department of Occupational Therapy.
Scott and Craig Kaufmann co-authored an article entitled “Camp Helping Hands: Using the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure to Facilitate Occupational Based Practice in Children Diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.” (OT Practice, January 2008).
Under Scott’s direction, the organization has been highlighted on Channel 7 Eyewitness News and News12 NJ.
Yonna Bliner
In 2002, Yonna graduated with a master of sciences degree in physical therapy from Northeastern University. She has worked in pediatrics in a variety of settings including early intervention, hospital-based, and preschool settings. She is presently pursuing a clinical doctorate degree in physical therapy.
Elizabeth Duffy
Elizabeth received a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from Elizabethtown College in 2001. All of her clinical experience has been in pediatrics including private practice, hospital, schools, community and home-based settings.
She is currently an adjunct professor at Kean University. She is certified to administer the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT) and is also certified in Therapeutic Listening.
Craig Kaufmann
In 2007, Craig earned a master of science in occupational therapy from Kean University.
For the past two years, he has stayed involved with the organization as a volunteer and completed a three month student internship. He is working to publish his thesis research: “What are the parents’ experiences of their children diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorder who are participating in an activity learning center.” Craig was awarded the Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges (2007).
Natalie Smith-Zuzovsky
Natalie has been an occupational therapist since 1998. She earned her master of sciences degree in occupational therapy from Towson University. Natalie has worked in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals and private homes.
She is certified to administer the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT) and is also certified in Therapeutic Listening.
Board of Trustees
James Korman, PsyD.
Dr. Korman serves as Director of the Behavioral Health and Cognitive Therapy Center at the Summit Medical Group, Summit, NJ. He is Board Certified in Cognitive Therapy. He received his MA from Roosevelt University, Chicago, IL, 1987, his PsyD. From the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Chicago, IL, 1992 and advanced training from the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy and Research, Philadelphia, PA, 2005.
Lynne Richard, OT MS
Ms. Richard is currently an assistant professor at the Kean University, and Chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy in Union, NJ.
Brent Reitz, MBA, CHE
Mr Reitz is the Vice President of Pediatrics for Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network. Reitz earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in physical therapy from D’Youville College in Buffalo, New York, and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey. He is a Certified Health Care Executive (CHE) with the American College of Health Care Executives.
Patrick Cerria
Patrick is the owner and creative director of TumbleJam. He is classically trained in piano and percussion and has received his post-graduate certificate to teach Dalcroze Eurhythmics from The Juilliard School in Manhattan.
John F. McCauley
Judy Conrad
